Li'l Yokels in the Big City

We spent a whirlwind weekend in Denver and Cheyenne with Gran, Larry, and the Alaskan contingent. The plan was to hit the King Tut exhibit at the art museum, but when our attempts were foiled by a power outage, we headed for the aquarium instead. (We just pulled those hayseeds out of our hair and blended right in with the city folk. Sandi's glam glasses had everybody fooled.) Of all the cool things we saw at the aquarium—an otter, jellyfish, sharks, ducks, a simulated flash flood in the desert, a TIGER, for crying out loud—Hayden is still talking about the mermaids. Hmm. In any case, it was a lovely weekend, even with last night's 10-hour drive back to Lander through a blizzard, during which Hayden kept saying, "Daddy, can you see the road very well?"

Mermaids? I've seen the tiger, but I would liked to have seen the mermaids!
