Cheyenne

Hayden and I took a whirlwind trip down to Cheyenne this week to visit Gran AND to sort through some of my grandmother's Christmas decorations. We didn't have much time, but Gran took us to the children's park in the botanic gardens for an hour or so. Wow. What an amazing place!

(Local folks with little peeps: if you're ever in the neighborhood, you should go.) Lots of wonderfully explorable nooks and crannies, tipis, windmills, fountains, water wheels, wind sculptures, sandboxes, and a secret garden with a puppet theater. The whole place was a hit, with Gran and Hayden alike!
I didn't get many pictures of the ornament sorting that happened later that evening, but suffice it to say, there were a few gems in Grandma's boxes. One of the best was this personalized cocktail tray (?), soberly modeled here by cousins Paige, Brooke, and Alex. The verdict? A keeper! It's bound for the Farris family cabin outside of Laramie. Perfect. All in all, it was a fine visit. We'll be down again next month to see the Alaskans...and we're already looking forward to it.

Not only does the day look incredibly beautiful weatherwise and Hayden adorable, and not only do I envy you the exploring together, but Gran looks terrific, too!

Sometime soon we're coming to Wyoming. In the meantime, it is spectacular in Maine, too.
