The Week in Review

It's been HOT around here, so there have been lots of baths, both inside and out, as well as much lounging under the aspen tree in the yard. The baby especially loves this, and will stare up at the leaves for half an hour before finally drifting off.

There have also been a few trips to Dad's shop, where Hayden is quickly becoming schooled in the ways of the carpenter. ("Honey, did he just say plumb bob?!").

The highlight of the week, though, was when the mail lady delivered a package from a dear friend in Maine. Among the gifts inside was a copy of The Giving Tree, which we promptly read together under the aspen. Read it right now if you haven't. It's wonderful. Thank you, Chris! We love you!

Mom has also been busy working on a few things...a groovy mobile made of stuff from around the house, plus a baby sweater to match Dad's. Because honestly, what good is having a husband and a son if you can't knit them matching sweaters?
