When You're One Month and One Day Old...
...you weigh in at 6 pounds 6 ounces, which means you've gained a total of two ounces per day for the last week. This is twice what the doctor assigned. Sure, compared to lots of other one-month-olds you're still a pipsqueak, but already you prove you're an overachiever, and your parents are thrilled!
...you travel everywhere in the sling, although your mother fumbles a bit each time she settles you in.

Once in the sling, you curl your legs up like this. You may be a month old, but you weren't scheduled to arrive until just a few days ago. You've got license to act like a newborn a little bit longer.
...despite loads of laundry on the couch, a neglected garden, a precariously unbalanced checkbook, an unfinished nursery, and an impending episode of colic, your parents decide their Sunday would best be spent taking you to the mountains for your first picnic. They're right! It's great!
...your umbilical cord finally falls off (hooray!) so your dad decides it's time for your first bath. The experience is truly awful...but you decide that hanging out with Dad after the bath is pretty good.
...you discover you're featured on somebody else's blog. Better still, she wants to be your best friend! Check it out! lunchallday.wordpress.com
So far so good. Looking forward to month two!
