A Little Behind...
We have a good excuse for our long blog absence. Hayden Atticus was born June 12, three weeks early. After a long hard week in NICU, he and the whole family are home and doing well. In fact, he's gained 5 ounces in the last few days...making him a whopping 5 pounds 5 ounces. He's all settled in and this weekend even got to meet Gran and Grandpa Kris, Aunt Sandi and Uncle Tyson, and his favorite cousin Thane. At three weeks old, he does a lot of sleeping and eating, interspersed with just generally being cute (especially when modeling hand-knit clothes). We love him so!
Stef, it's your old Mainer friend Margo here- congrats on your beautiful baby boy!!! He is gorgeous!!! I hope you'll keep the pictures coming. God bless you and your whole family!!
Last time I looked at your blog there was a great picture of Stefanie trying to look over her belly at her feet. Just yesterday, as I was considering the course of my sister's pregnancy I thought, "hmmm, it must be around time for Stefanie and Tim..." and then I typed in the address and there was a new little being! Very little and, well, miraculous to think that he is the two of you in tiny, just-starting-out form. I like him especially because he's little. And named after Hayden Carruth (?). Gotta love people named after poets...even crazy poets, in my case.
Well, the point is that I love you two and am so delighted for you. How was the birth itself? How are you doing as you go about Hayden's new days?
Right now in my life I have an accidentally pregnant sister, a friend whose in Latin America and hoping to get pregnant when she returns (though a reluctant partner and a sperm donor who lives literally across the country will be major challenges to say the least) and a friend who is pregnant for the first time and struggling with her decision to have an abortion. So much tied up in the womb and its alchemy. It's wonderful to hear all the sweetnesses in your story. And, I'd love to do a baby tour this fall, when my sister's child is born w/ you and Tim and Hayden on the way.
We shall see. Until then, be well & again congratulations...

Hayden it was so nice to meet you yesterday! I can't wait to hang out again. I will come over on Saturday, but you have to gain 3 more ounces first!

Hayden, my dear little boy, I'm so glad to finally have met you and hold you. You are so special and I love you so much. Love, Gran
Holy shit, Stefanie and Tim,
