Nesting

Happy Mothers Day to all my favorite moms! Mom, Janet, Chris, Sandi, Polly, Lois, Sheryl...

We've had a busy weekend in the yard and around the house. So much to do! So little time! We did get a quick birding walk in this morning, but temps were cool and there wasn't much to be seen. We have a robin hanging out on her nest in our backyard, and a pair of sparrows in the little house Tim built for the swallows (we couldn't bring ourselves to evict the sparrows). Pedestrian sorts of birds, maybe, but we're pretty pedestrian ourselves, and we'll take 'em. Speaking of building, Tim's been hard at it—he built a new fence in the backyard, he built two new raised beds, he's building dressers and cabinets for the baby's room... It's a good thing he's here or nothing would be getting done these days, since I seem to be spending most of my free time a) knitting or b) lying down. The very best is when I can do both of these things at once. Which I was able to do yesterday, when I knit a wool diaper cover while lounging on a blanket in the sun. Ahh, May. (Flurries tomorrow!)
