Blowing the Stink Off

We've been housebound for TOO long! Hayden and Daddy have both been sick for a week, so we haven't gone to what few scheduled activities we have in *seven days*. Nor have we been outside much. So this morning we headed out to the "bus loop," a lovely chunk of public land close to town where folks can run, walk dogs, hike, etc. (And where there just happen to be a rusted out old bus AND a rusted out old car—definite bonus for the preschool set. Just for marveling at, I mean. Not for climbing around on or anything. Don't worry!) Hayden was happy to hike on his own (not in the backpack) for a ways before we both plunked down in the creekbed and dug in the fine red dirt and examined deer poop and cacti and watched a flock of (what I'm pretty sure were might have been) Western Scrub Pinyon Jays pass by while the neurotic dog wore himself out running circles around us. Fantastic.
